Hashlamah begins with the people directly around us. Food and clothing drives meet immediate needs in the neighborhood while cultivating the ethic of mutual responsibility needed for a much larger work of reconciliation and regional repair.

Food Drives
Collect shelf-stable food and other requested staples for direct distribution through local community channels and trusted partner organizations.
Clothing Drives
Collect clean, useful clothing with attention to season, dignity, actual demand, and the practical realities of storage and distribution.
Partner Distribution
Local distribution is immediate. Broader regional support is activated only where verified partners, legal channels, and workable logistics exist. The campaign does not pretend that every donated item can simply be shipped overseas.
From neighborhood responsibility to sacred responsibility.
“From the Hood to the Holy Land” deliberately collapses the distance between grand ideals and ordinary obligations. If Tiqqun ʿOlam means repairing the world, then the world begins on the block where we live—and it does not end there.
The campaign joins practical mutual aid to Hashlamah’s larger vision: a culture capable of feeding and clothing one another is better prepared to build the trust required for reconciliation, covenant, and regional cooperation.
No political test for basic dignity.
Material need is not a debating point. The campaign’s ethos is to help people as people, while building relationships strong enough to survive disagreement.
Specific drives may be designated for a local need, disaster response, or a verified partner project. Each appeal should clearly state where collected goods or funds are intended to go.
Three simple ways to help.
Host a collection point
Organize a synagogue, mosque, chavurah, study circle, business, school, gym, or neighborhood collection point and coordinate with Hashlamah before announcing dates.
Donate requested items or funds
Give what a specific drive actually requests. Monetary support can cover transportation, storage, emergency purchases, and direct aid when physical-item logistics are impractical.
Help distribute with dignity
Volunteer for sorting, packing, local delivery, partner coordination, or community outreach. The goal is useful assistance—not piles of unusable donations.
The same ethic, scaled up.
Hashlamah’s map and one-state federal vision imagine a single federal polity in which local communities retain real self-government while sharing responsibility through common institutions. “From the Hood to the Holy Land” is the material-aid expression of the same ethic: relationship should produce responsibility.
